My experience comes from working for some of Europe's largest Advertising agencies, and managing a Design Consultancy. I am a Design Consultant and Creative Director working with businesses locally, nationally and worldwide.

• Ask about a design critique
With all design jobs it's essential to look at your existing marketing material and discuss how it worked for your business, along with the positive and negative points this will help to form a design and marketing brief and start moving your project to the next stage.
• The design process - How I work
Each brief brings new problems to be solved. The process however follows a similar path, I've listed some key points below:
• THE BRIEFING
This will be a meeting or phone call to determine exactly what sort of design and marketing material you are looking for.• COSTS AND CONTRACTS
Following a briefing session I will then put together the cost of producing your design work and submit this along with a standard contract.• THINKING TIME - CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
A good and relevant design concept will set you apart from the competition, and make your business unique, concepts are always developed by a copywriter and art director working as a team - it's how the best ideas are developed.• DESIGN LAYOUTS - MOCK UPS
Design concepts are worked up into a pdf presentation, colour proofs or made viewable on the internet. At this point the visual elements and production of the design concept are discussed and developed (in a print project) using photography and/or illustration, as each project is bespoke I will advise on the best approach that can be reached within your budget.
• ARTWORK - PRODUCTION
Once everything has been agreed the various elements are brought together and presented as finished artwork for client approval. Initially delivered as pdf's
• PROOF / TESTING / AMENDS
Before ordering any print or making web sites live a process of checking and amending artwork will take place. Hard copies can be produced if preferred for final checking.
Once artwork is signed off it will be sent for final production, printed, or posted live on the internet.
• FINANCIALS / RELEASE / DELIVERY
With each project I require a deposit before starting any work and final payment before releasing artwork and any © copyright release details.
• My Experience
For over 25 years I have designed and produced work in many different industry categories for a multitude of clients.
Advertising campaigns, Posters, TV Commercials, Press ads, Brochures, Books, Packaging, Web sites, Leaflets, quirky mailers and many more.....
With a degree in Graphic Design I started working for GUSCO - the catalogue people but I was soon head hunted to work for McCormicks Manchester, Publicis and McCann Ericson - some of the top Advertising Agencies in Europe.
I had developed a fast lateral thinking ability, thinking of ideas was a daily process and certainly helps to really cut to the chase when applying those principles to the real world of business today.
I then combined 15 years in Advertising with my graphic design strengths and started a Graphic Design Consultancy - invited to be listed on many design rosters the business began to specialise in fmcg packaging, clients included: Tescos, The Co-op Group, Marks and Spencer, Iceland Frozen Foods, Burtons Biscuits, Cadburys, Phostrogen, Swizzels Sweets, Fatty Arbuckles, JMC Airlines, Stagecoach Buses, SAQ International plus many more multi-million pound turnover private companies and plc's
