My experience spans over 30 years. I have worked as an Art Director and Designer for two of the worlds biggest Advertising agencies McCanns and Publicis.
For 10 years I ran a successful Graphic Design Consultancy - 4Design, specialising in FMCG Packaging Design, Advertising and Design for Print.
I qualified with a Honours degree in Graphic Design and Visual communication and was awarded a Design and Art Directors Association scholarship.
In 1996 I was awarded Chartered Graphic Designer status.

With all design jobs it's essential to look at your existing marketing material and discuss how it worked for your business, along with the positive and negative points this will help to form a design and marketing brief and start moving your business forward.

Each design brief brings new business problems to be solved.
However most design projects follow a similar path. I've listed some key points below:
CREATING A BRIEF
This will be a short meeting or phone call to determine exactly what sort of design and marketing material you are looking for. An idea of your marketing spend is essential at this stage as it will determine what can be achieved within your budget.
WE WORK OUT THE COSTS AND AGREE A CONTRACT
Following our briefing session I will then put together the cost of producing your design work and submit this along with a standard contract.
THINKING TIME - CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
A good and relevant design concept will set you apart from the competition, and make your business unique.
DESIGN LAYOUTS - MOCK UPS
Design concepts are worked up into a pdf presentation. At this point the visual elements and production of the design concept are discussed and developed - using photography and/or illustration, as each project is bespoke - I will advise on the best approach to take.
ARTWORK & PRODUCTION
Once everything has been agreed the various elements are brought together and presented as finished artwork for client approval. Initially delivered as pdf's.
PROOFS / TESTING / AMENDS
Before ordering any print or building web sites, a process of checking and amending artwork content will take place. Hard copies can be produced if preferred for final checking. Once artwork is signed off it will be sent for final production, printed, or posted live on the internet.
FINANCIALS / RELEASE / DELIVERY
With each project I require a deposit before starting any work and final payment before releasing artwork. Payments can be made easily using my paypal link, or Bank transfer.
